The Milwaukee Brewers struggled this past weekend against the Houston Astros. In 27 innings the Brewers could only managed 2 runs. Against the Chicago Cubs tonight though it was a different story as the Brewers crushed the Cubbies 18-1. Yovani Gallardo started the game for the Brewers and went six innings allowing just one run and striking out 12 Cubs.
On the offensive side of the game the Brewers pounded out 26 hits against four Cub pitchers. Ryan Braun, Corey Hart, Casey McGehee and Prince Fielder went 16 for 26 with 11 runs scored along with 12 RBI's. The Brewers have a good offensive club and this does not surprise me at all. Gallardo is the only pitcher the Brewers have they can count on these days. It's too bad the Brewers cannot get better outings from other pitchers.

Thank You Brewers Bullpen For Blowing Another Game
It seems like Brewer fans have heard this before maybe because they have. Yovani Gallardo pitched great and left the game with a 4-1 lead after pitching six strong innings striking out nine batters. He probably should have stayed in as he sat from the clubhouse and watch the Brewers bullpen give another game away. The Brewers bullpen gave up 7 runs and the Brewers lost 8-7 to Colorado. Thank you bullpen for another shitty job in relief.
For the Brewers fans it was another heart breaking loss to take as this theme keeps coming back to haunt them. The Brewers managed 15 hits and Cory Hart went 2 for 5 with 3 RBI's and his 18th home run. If he is not chosen for the All-Star game that will be a crime. The Brewers finally scored some runs only to watch the bullpen give it away. Oh well this is Brewer baseball in the year 2010.

Yovani Gallardo Only Brewers Pitcher You Can Trust These Days
It seems every time the Brewers put someone on the mound it is a crap shoot to what will happen. One pitcher though has been very consistent in his pitching performances and that is Yovani Gallardo. Without a doubt he is the Brewers ace and has posted some great stats. Gallardo is 6-2 in 12 starts with one shutout and a 2.64 ERA. he has only allowed 22 earned runs and walked only 37 while striking out 77 players. He has been the model of consistency for the Brewers.
He has also has pitched the most innings of any Brewers pitcher along with only giving up four home runs. The thing that makes Gallardo great is he gives you a chance to win by keeping you in the game. Sometimes the offense does not click right away, but you know when he is on the mound you have a chance. Gallardo is young and will only get better as he gains experience from pitching. Look for him to be a 20 game winner in the future because he is that good.
