Brewers Sweep Twins With A 6-2 Win Sunday

The Milwaukee Brewers continued their stellar play at home as they got a 6-2 win Sunday and a series sweep over the struggling Twins. Milwaukee has used the same formula that has worked for them in the past and that is strong pitching and timely hitting. Chris Narveson who has struggled at times came through with a fine performance. Narveson went 6.2 innings giving up just five hits and two earned runs. Along the way he did strike out seven batters. If the Brewers can get Chris Narveson more consistent the Brewers will be awful tough.

Ryan Braun got a hit to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Yuniesky Betancourt got three hits to help pace a Milwaukee team that has been hitting the ball well at least in the Twins series. Milwaukee's Prince Fielder also added to his RBI total and now stands at 68. Milwaukee is tough at home, but they still need to improve on the road if they want to be considered a real title contender.

Brewers Get Shutdown By Astros And Oswalt 5-0

After the Milwaukee Brewers played well Tuesday against the Houston Astros I thought we may get another good performance, but it did not happen. Astros ace Roy Oswalt had command of his pitches and cruised to an easy 5-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers who lost another home game which is no shock. Oswalt went 8 innings and only gave up four hits in the win. The Brewers Chris Naverson went only 4 innings giving up 8 hits and four runs to take the loss. Two bright spots for the Brewers were Trevor Hoffman who pitched one scoreless inning and Jeff Suppan pitched two innings of shutout ball.

Ryan Braun collected two hits for the Brewers and was the only Brewer play to do so. The Brewers are now 5-15 at home. That is just plain horrible no two ways about it. I do not know why the Brewers play so bad at home, but they do. Today, the Brewers have Dave Bush pitching  with a 1:10 PM et start time. Hopefully, Dave Bush can give the Brewers some decent innings so the bullpen can get a rest. They have logged many innings already and it is still early in the season.
