Milwaukee Brewers 2010 Preview

In this installment of Chalk Talk we will take a look at the 2010 Milwaukee Brewers. Last year was a disappointment for the Brewers and their fans. They had high hopes for the playoffs, but was just a .500 ball club. They hope 2010 will be different. Scoring runs has really not been a problem for the Milwaukee Brewers and they will be led again by Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder one of the best one-two punches in the National League. The Brewers need a healthy Rickie Weeks as well to help the offense along. Jim Edmonds could be a wild card as he is having a fine spring training. The Brewers will score plenty of runs this year.

Projected lineup

1. SS Alcides Escobar
2. 2B Rickie Weeks
3. LF Ryan Braun
4. 1B Prince Fielder.
5. 3B Casey McGehee
6. RF Corey Hart
7. CF Carlos Gomez
8. C Gregg Zaun

Last year the biggest problem the Milwaukee Brewers had was pitching and GM Doug Melvin went out and got some talent. Melvin brought in Randy Wolf and Doug Davis to help a staff that was one of the worse in the National League last year. The bullpen again will be anchored by Trevor Hoffman who seems to get better with age.

Projected rotation
1. LHP Randy Wolf
2. RHP Yovani Gallardo
3. LHP Doug Davis
4. RHP Jeff Suppan
5. LHP Manny Parra

Projected closer
RHP Trevor Hoffman
